6- John Cena
If John Cena does dust off his wrestling boots for the Royal Rumble, it’ll be the first time he has competed in a WWE ring since the 14 January 2019 episode of Raw, when he competed in a number one contender’s match featuring Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and the winner, Finn Balor. Though he has appeared on television since then, returning would end the greatest in-ring break of his run as a part-timer.
It was stated in December that Cena would have a part to play at WrestleMania 36, with WrestlingNews.co’s Paul Davis claiming that the idea inside WWE was that the 16-time World Champion would be wrestling on the show. Also, WrestleVotes have claimed a “substantial role” for ‘Big Match John’ in Tampa.
It’d make many a WWE fan around the bend and probably isn’t the smartest booking choice, though it shouldn’t be ruled out totally. Regardless, Cena is one of the biggest surprise names.
