Over the past few weeks, John Cena has repeatedly declared that he wants to fight at WrestleMania 36. For about a year now he has been away from the WWE ring, having not fought in any 2019 pay-per-view. John Cena wants to change that, and soon at this year’s biggest event in Tampa, Florida.
Meanwhile, it is being reported by Paul Davis of WrestlingNews that WWE has not yet fully decided on John Cena’s participation in WrestleMania 36, but is preparing a “big plan” for the former world champion. Sources indicate that John Cena should fight on the show.
After finishing Elias with a new version of “Doctor of Thuganomics” on WrestleMania 35 and being crushed by Undertaker on WrestleMania 34, the plane seems to want to have a real fight in “his” city. John Cena’s want to fight at WrestleMania 36 could “force” WWE to give him that role.
The last time John Cena fought in a WWE event was in a Raw on January 13, 2019, when he faced Finn Balor, Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre in a Fatal 4-Way Match to decide the new contender for the WWE Universal Championship. The victory smiled at Finn Balor, who faced champion Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
And speaking of Brock Lesnar, and now this is our thinking, it is scheduled for this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble Match and will enter number 1. Still without a defined opponent for WrestleMania 36, although Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury are named as potential names, could this not be the “big plan” that WWE might be preparing for John Cena? We’ll have to wait and see.
