WWE may return to Saudi Arabia in February

Saudi Arabia

It was reported this weekend by PWInsider and Wrestling Observer that WWE may return to Saudi Arabia as early as February, more specifically on the 20th or 27th of this month, midway through Road to WrestleMania. Journalists believe the announcement of the upcoming Saudi concert will be made in a very short time.

Rumors have been circulating in recent days that WWE could take advantage of the fact that it has no pay-per-view scheduled for February to host a major event in Europe. However, likely, this big event will happen in Saudi Arabia.

This year WWE has no plans to host Fastlane in February, but only the Elimination Chamber on March 8. For February, it has just scheduled NXT TakeOver: Portland for the 16th, but without any associated main roster PPV. Maybe that’s why TakeOver will happen on a Sunday, not a Saturday, as usual.

Remember that WWE’s last visit to Saudi Arabia took place at the end of October, with the Crown Jewel. An event that was marked by controversy when most WWE Superstars had serious problems returning to the United States in time for SmackDown.

If this major event is confirmed to be held in Saudi Arabia as early as February, we are unlikely to have a new event in April / May, as happened over the last two years during WWE’s European tour.
