In February 2019, KENTA left WWE, returning to New Japan Pro Wrestling. This move allowed Hideo Itami to use his finisher, Go to Sleep, again, a move that was banned by WWE after Itami injured Brian Kendrick at 205 Live. KENTA recently released the first-ever GTS he had performed in his career, in a match against Mitsuharu Misawa in the 2000s, pointing out that this happened before anyone else used it in WWE:
CM Punk played an important role in the dissemination of GTS. However, the Japanese accused Punk of stealing his movement. The current NJPW star responded to a fan’s tweet claiming that Punk performs the move better than him, and the Japanese responded that he doesn’t care about it and also claims that he expects the former WWE Champion to pay royalties for the go-to-Sleep:

And let me tell you one more fact.
I always open my arms for that someone pay royalties to me. https://t.co/1HrU8tcVtu
