Until the last minute before the start of the show, and even if we could expect a surprise, the question about Alexa Bliss and Natalya was whether they would catch or not. The answer was unfortunately negative.
The news on Thursday suggested that the two wrestlers had been taken by WWE to Jeddah to hope they could be catchered at the show. Some photos posted on social networks by Natalya, showing that the two female wrestlers visited sick children in a hospital, confirmed the information.
The Stamford company was waiting for only one thing: the green light from the General Authority of Sport of Saudi Arabia. If at first it would have given permission to the WWE, it changed its mind just before the show as indicated by the Wrestling Observer.
The two wrestlers did not appear at the event, not even for the promotion. As at last November’s Crown Jewel, Renee Young is the only woman to have appeared around the ring, commenting on the event.
Some will have noticed that while WWE was promoting the next event, Stomping Grounds, the announcements of women’s matches between Becky Lynch and Lacey Evans as well as Bayley and Alexa Bliss have been favored by the public.
