Once removed from the match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships and with no possibility of renewing their contract with WWE, The Revival has taken on a new comedy role in the blue brand. Dash Wilder crashed during a recent entry and the pair participated in a Christmas Street Fight at the last SmackDown.
In response to all of this, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson posted a photo beside two friends and one of All Elite Wrestling’s top teams, the Private Party. This may indicate what Revival wants as soon as their WWE contracts expire next year.
Meanwhile, it is being reported by Wrestling News that this new comedy role has been attributed to the Revivals by Vince McMahon, who is responsible for this decision. The WWE president’s plan is then to “bury” the former NXT Tag Team Champions, as they do not intend to remain in the company.
The source also indicates that Vince McMahon is not a fan of the team’s older school gimmick and that he followed little or nothing of the work the Revivals did on the NXT before reaching the main roster.
Still, the team seeks to remain prominent in WWE and beyond. In addition to AEW Private Party photography, Scott Dawson also published an image promoting an alleged fight against the Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) at the Royal Rumble.
This rivalry between the Revival and the Harlem Heat began at WWE TLC Kickoff, with Booker T feeding feud days later. It’s a fight that will almost never happen, but it will keep fans talking about it and the two WWE wrestlers.
Y’all might’ve set the table, but we sitting at the head of it🪑🪑— Scott Dawson (@ScottDawsonWWE) December 22, 2019
