New Japan Pro Wrestling is currently in North America to present its 2019 Super J-Cup tournament and now a well-known guest was in the crowd. This is veteran UFC Cain Velasquez !
As you know, Velasquez made his AAA debut in Mexico and he still has one or two fights left for the company. After that, he can wrestle for another company or sign a new contract with the AAA.
According to ESPN sports journalist Marc Raimondi, Velasquez was present during the show to see the organization and also attend a backstage meeting with the directors of the NJPW to hear their proposal for a future contract. The name Velasquez draws a lot of eyes to a show, so there’s a lot of interest in signing it.
Cain Velasquez is at the New Japan Super J Cup show tonight in San Francisco. Sources said he’ll be having an informal meeting with NJPW officials. Velasquez is signed on for two more Lucha Libre AAA matches, but several other wrestling promotions have interest, per sources.— Marc Raimondi (@marc_raimondi) August 25, 2019
