NJPW: No hope for return of Katsuyori Shibata

Katsuyori Shibata

While the main interested person refuses to close the door, it seems more and more unlikely to see Katusyori Shibata one day going back to a WWE ring. On Monday’s show, the Japanese made a name for himself by coming to attack KENTA and then receiving a beatdown from the BULLET CLUB.

While many people hoped this would lead to a Shibata vs. KENTA, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has just doused hopes by indicating that the veteran was still not – and probably would never be-medically allowed to reread. It is thus stated that this angle was only for the purpose of strengthening KENTA’s heel turn and his induction into the BULLET CLUB.

As far as this angle is concerned, no one behind the scenes seemed to be aware except those concerned. During the beatdown, the wrestlers were instructed to take their shots away from Shibata’s head.
