NJPW: A new IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion has been crowned

NJPW

Lance Archer defeated Juice Robinson for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship at Monday’s King of Pro-Wrestling. This will be Archer’s first reign with a single title in New Japan Pro Wrestling since he returned in 2014.

As before reported, Jon Moxley was supposed to defend the title against Robinson, but due to Typhoon Hagibis was unable to travel to Japan.

NJPW has a rule under which they strip a wrestler of a title if he is unable to participate in an already advertised title defense and therefore Moxley had to leave the title under that rule.
