Earlier this week, we announced that Lars Sullivan was fined $ 100,000 by WWE for his inappropriate comments between 2007 and 2014 before joining the company.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer returned to the situation, mentioning the very high amount of this fine:
“In the end, here’s the situation: There were sponsors who complained and the WWE felt it had to act publicly and I think she had to take very firm steps to keep it because she did not want to send him away. So they had to do something that would mean “we will not let go” to keep it because they think it has potential. So they fined him $ 100,000 … that’s a lot of money.
I know some people thought the fine was not real, but it is fine. They publicly announced the amount and they have never done it before. In the past, there have already been guys who have been fined. Steve Austin was fined $ 250,000, if you remember, for being gone. Dave Bautista was fined $ 100,000 for using a blade to make himself bleed when he was told he should not do it. These are the two biggest fines I have ever heard. There may be others, but these are the only two I know.
As far as I know, this is the second-biggest, equal, fine in the history of the company. “
