This is a big blow that has just arrived for Double Or Nothing and for the credibility of the AEW.
Last night, PAC was booked for a show in England of the Dragon Gate Pro and faced an unplanned wrestler … Hangman Page, supposed to be his opponent of Double Or Nothing next week. In a 15-minute matchup, the American will eventually win by disqualification after PAC hit the referee.
Post-match, the English attack Page with a chair before catching a microphone to say that the only thing he wanted was to hurt him and torture him. Since he feels he has done it, his work is done he does not need to go to Double Or Nothing or AEW.
If this could potentially sound like a storyline, F4WOnline says that all this is true and that the match scheduled for next week’s Double Or Nothing is canceled. The person responsible for this would be PAC himself. Since taking the main title of the Dragon Gate in Japan in late December, English would ask to lose no match so as not to discredit his belt. That’s why he made Time Limit against Zack Saber Jr. and Will Ospreay recently.
This rigidity would not have stuck to the AEW, possibly because it planned to win next week. In order to explain the withdrawal of this match from the map of Double Or Nothing, the decision was made that Page go to England and make the match against PAC there, the finish leaving a door open for a continuation of the storyline.
