02 Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman’s ambulance flipping ways made him a fan favorite throughout 2017 and 2018 despite his badly received losses to Universal Champ Brock Lesnar.
His money in the bank win last year seemed to be the guarantee WWE was ready to commit to their resident strongman.
Full of promise, Strowman finally became the fourth man to fail in his briefcase challenge, and he has since struggled in the mid-card. While still loved by fans, it’s obvious the amount of main event scene chokes have damaged his credibility.
There is an obvious and potentially charming world title program for Strowman right now with old mentor Bray Wyatt and his many oddball personas. While the matches wouldn’t exactly be 5-star technical classics, the storyline could help to rebuild and develop the Strowman persona, and he carries the physical presence to take on The Fiend.
Some repair work will have to be done before then to reestablish Strowman as a top guy having stuttered in mid-card feuds with everyone from Drew Gulak to Tyson Fury this year. Perhaps an IC title win over Shinsuke Nakamura could be Strowman’s ticket to the big blue belt in 2020?
